Southside Junk Removal started in 2020 with two people from emergency work, a little lawn equipment, and one promise: do the job right and bring something home to the family every day.
How it started
Two people from emergency work, building something honest
Jordan grew up in Clayton County and went straight from Jonesboro High into the fire department, where he spent three years as a firefighter and EMT-paramedic. His wife, Carmen, is a full-time nurse. Both came from emergency work, where staying steady under pressure and showing up for people is the entire job.
The turning point was small and a little painful. One evening Jordan burned his hand on the stove and could not lift the stretchers his ambulance job required. Those two weeks off the clock became the push to build something of his own.
He started with lawn care and odd jobs, with one rule from day one: keep everything above board and do it the right way. In December 2020, a $175 garage cleanout in Jonesboro turned into the first junk removal job. The calls kept coming.
After expenses and payroll, my goal was to bring $150 home to my family every single day.

One truck sat in the shop for seven months. An accident took a brand-new dump truck off the road two weeks after it arrived. They kept the jobs going on a rented truck, and 2021 taught them resilience the hard way. By January 2022 the orange brand came together.
